Don’t miss this first preview screening of the completed film! Seating is limited, and space will be reserved for advanced event sponsors. The suggested donation of $15 per person goes a long way toward helping cover the cost of renting such a great facility as the Gene Siskel Film Center. Don’t miss it on Sunday, March 14, 11:30 a.m., 164 N. State Street in Chicago!
If you’re donating through PayPal, please bring the confirmation email with you to the screening. Your name will be on a sponsor list, but the email copy will help move things along a little faster.
If you prefer not to make the donation of $15 per person through PayPal, here’s what you can do:
1. Send an email to info@whitecapfilms.com letting us know the amount of your donation and the number in your party.
2. Bring a personal check made out to Whitecap Films or cash to the Siskel Center the day of the screening. Unfortunately, we’re not equipped to accept credit or debit cards right now.
Thanks to every one who’s donated already!
After almost a year of script writing, editing, running out to get more footage and other post-production tasks that can drag you underground for six months, I’ve finally got a finished film. Right before New Year’s, I went to Los Angeles to spend six weeks supervising the soundtrack recording, and working with the colorist and sound editor to put all the finishing touches on this piece.
First, I think anyone who sees this film will be blown away by the music. Michael T. McLean is without a doubt a brilliant composer. I’ve known him for a long time, and knew he would do a great job. But I had no idea how much I would love the music until I heard it being recorded in a sound stage located at the end of a long, winding road in the hills above Glendale, California. You can hear a sample by visiting the fan page on Facebook (click on the “More Information” link below).
When it was all done I wasted no time in getting some friends and Facebook fans together for a small screening last Monday in LA. I can say with a little bit of relief that everyone loved it (some in the audience have been in entertainment a long time and can be pretty tough critics, especially when it comes to a documentary on someone they’d never heard of).
I’m very glad to be back in Chicago, and have scheduled a screening at the Gene Siskel Film Center on Sunday, March 14 at 11:30 a.m. Can’t wait to show this to a hometown crowd!
